A New Home

Well my very own blogging space. :-) This feels good.

My plan is to use this space to write mostly about my efforts to feed my family from foods that are as local as possible, becoming more independant and self-reliant with our house and land, and honestly any other issue that strikes my fancy.

I named the blog 'Happy Chickens' on a whim but also because of all I've learned the past two years about our food and where it comes from. When chickens are happy and given the space they need it is reflected in all aspects of their lives right down (and most importantly to those of us who eat them) their eggs. The eggs from happy chickens are healthier and more delicious than those from industrial farms. I think that's true for all of us!
